Originally from Auckland, I have owned properties and resided on the island for the last 20 years. For 8 years I commuted to Auckland (so earned my commuter status!) where I worked for an upmarket Corporate Travel Group as their Relationship Manager. I still like to keep attune with “city life” and have had several stints living off island, which helps to keep perspective but somehow Waiheke seems to get under your skin and draws you back time again!

Whilst it may not have been the most sensible economic time to start in real estate just prior to the GFC, it was certainly was the right time for me to branch out and work for myself, when I joined Harcourt’s in 2006. The climate at the time, while tough suited my personal style and approach as I am very empathetic to people’s situations. I pride myself on doing a professional job and take my responsibilities seriously and enjoy the relationships I form both with my vendors and buyers. Many start as strangers, end up as friends. I enjoy the diversity of doing real estate on Waiheke where the properties range from bach’s to mansions, the prices from $100,000 ‘s (now the odd section !) to $1m plus, the people from hermits to high flyers.

In January 2011 I joined Waiheke Real Estate who that year celebrated their 50th year of operation on the island, being a small independent agency owned and still operated by the Priest family since conception. Well earned is an outstanding local reputation for both their respected staff and outstanding sales record. Punching well above its weight, we consistently sell over 30% of the market share on Waiheke, while competing against much larger national agencies, with bigger profiles, offices and staff.
