Originally from Auckland, I have owned properties and resided on the island for the last 20 years. For 8 years I commuted to Auckland (so earned my commuter status!) where I worked for an upmarket Corporate Travel Group as their Relationship Manager. I still like to keep attune with “city life” and have had several stints living off island, which helps to keep perspective but somehow Waiheke seems to get under your skin and draws you back time again!
Whilst it may not have been the most sensible economic time to start in real estate just prior to the GFC, it was certainly was the right time for me to branch out and work for myself, when I joined Harcourt’s in 2006. The climate at the time, while tough suited my personal style and approach as I am very empathetic to people’s situations. I pride myself on doing a professional job and take my responsibilities seriously and enjoy the relationships I form both with my vendors and buyers. Many start as strangers, end up as friends. I enjoy the diversity of doing real estate on Waiheke where the properties range from bach’s to mansions, the prices from $100,000 ‘s (now the odd section !) to $1m plus, the people from hermits to high flyers.
In January 2011 I joined Waiheke Real Estate who that year celebrated their 50th year of operation on the island, being a small independent agency owned and still operated by the Priest family since conception. Well earned is an outstanding local reputation for both their respected staff and outstanding sales record. Punching well above its weight, we consistently sell over 30% of the market share on Waiheke, while competing against much larger national agencies, with bigger profiles, offices and staff. That speaks for itself, as does our repeat business. If you are looking for an agency that just quietly goes about getting the job done, you’ve come to the right place.
Thank you for your professional service, commitment and persistence in selling ourhouse. We have enjoyed working with you and your team and would suggest others do the same. It made such a difference have you onboard and motivated and we are grateful for that. Many thanks and we wish you all the success you can handle!
Aaron and Wendy McLoughlin
Due to my being overseas at the time of sale Jude was happy to assist in extra ways which I was very grateful for. She passed on comments about the property leading up to the sale and suggested when the garden should be tidied. Later names and contacts were given of people who could assist in the winding up of the household goods etc. She also understood my emotional attachment to the house and what type of client I would like it to go to. I think she is great at what she does. Colleen Robins
Many thanks for your help and support Jude. You are great at your job and a real asset to your office. Peter and Marion Robertson

In 2008, Paul quit his job as a senior research chemist/project manager, and embarked on a trip around New Zealand “finding himself”
After 7 months of helping to build straw bale, and mud brick houses all over the country, he found his way to Waiheke.
Every day Paul feels incredibly lucky to have ended up on such a beautiful island, and to do something for a living that he has been passionate about for his entire life….He bought his first investment property at the age of 20.
Paul says, starting a new career in real estate at a time when nobody was buying property (in the midst of a global financial crisis) was the best thing he could have done. He learned the hard way, and quickly became one of the islands top salespeople. He has continued to be a top performer ever since.
One of the things Paul is most proud of, and is very grateful for, is the amount of referrals and repeat business he receives, as that is the best compliment you can get.
If you are looking for an energetic agent with the highest ethical standards, who will always put you first, work hard (and smart), and achieve great results, get in touch with Paul for a confidential chat.
Tom is one of the senior sales people on the island having moved into real estate in 2005 and working with the then Ray White franchise on the island. Since 2006 he has served as a Licensed Sales Consultant as Waiheke Real Estate.
Previous to that Tom and his brother Justin owned an iconic furniture brand in Auckland until the late 70’s when they sold it to a consortium. Then for nearly thirty nears Tom and his Kiwi wife lived in the “far north” of the US A and was engaged in the Industrial Packaging business which advanced into automated machinery systems. When they decided to move back to New Zealand, Waiheke Island was their pick.
Thus after a lengthy career involving complex B2B projects working with Vendors and Customers to achieve a beneficial outcome that effects each party in a deeply personal way is a joy to be involved in. Many customer and Vendors along the way have offered references and recommendations. One of them best sums up the service to expect from Tom: “Thanks to your amazing knowledge, perseverance, and dedication. You did not seem to have a limit to the lengths you would go for us. We are really grateful.”
Having an agent who is a good listener is exactly what you need when your selling or buying a home
Alistair appreciates that every customer is an individual and each deal is unique. He’s adept at working out what people want from his years of experience in the Recruitment industry
Alistair joins Waiheke Real Estate after four years with Ray White on the island
He is passionate about the island, living here on and off since 95 with his wife who also works in real estate.
He appreciates the diverse nature of Waiheke and in particular the depth of the artistic community, feeling right at home because his interests lie in music and the arts
To quote Alistair “the recruitment industry trained you to work in with people, buying and selling real estate on the island is far more personal than Auckland, your going to see the people who bought or sold through you again and again”
Give Alistair a call if your thinking of buying or selling a home.
